Can my child benefit from therapy?

The short answer is, probably. If you are asking the question, that often means that something is going on within your family that is testing your or your child’s abilities to cope with the situation.

Children who can benefit may have experienced traumatic or stressful situations, may be experiencing social, emotional or behavioral challenges (i.e. tantrums, meltdowns, withdrawing, aggression, fighting with peers, anxious), or be having another difficulty all together.

How long does therapy last?

There is a different answer to this for every client! Typically, you can expect a minimum of six months. This allows time to build a deep relationship between therapist and client. Research shows us that the strength of the relationship is a more important factor in making change and progress than the type of intervention used. Of course, this is going to take time!

I will always keep you informed about my expected timeline for you or your child, and you are always welcome to ask.

Typically, I see clients or families once per week for a 45-60 minute session.

How much will it cost? What about insurance?

Therapy is an investment of both time and money. Fees range from $125-$200 per hour depending on the services. Look here for more specific information about the cost of each services. Fees are prorated to the length of the session.

Currently, I am in network with Blue Cross, UCare, Health Partners, Medica, and PMAPs or MA, and am happy to bill them for you. If I am out of network for your insurance, I am happy to provide you with a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. As with any medical appointment, you are responsible for your copay or coinsurance, if it applies. I strongly recommend that you call your insurance to find out what the specifics of your coverage are.

For payment, I am happy to accept major credit cards, FSA/HSA, cash or check.
